Welcome to Simply BBQ! My name is John Shepard, aka Sir Porkalot.

I grew up in the BBQ belt in NC and have been cooking outdoors for close to 40 years.

For eight years, my wife and I have also owned and operated a gourmet seasonings and bbq rubs.

In addition to that, I competed in the KCBS professional bbq circuit as Sir Porkalot BBQ Team.

In this series of posts in Simply BBQ, I will share my experiences, tips and tricks and recipes along the way.
