Group’s Mission
We’re a bunch of cooks, novice to expert, looking to learn and further the craft of BBQ by building a community with an atmosphere of learning and camaraderie in all things barbecue. To spread the knowledge of barbecue throughout the world. Not focusing on a certain style but embracing all styles, techniques, and food from abroad.
Group History
BBQ Pitmasters - Novice to Expert was founded in March 2018 by John Shepard, co-owner of Naturiffic and former Head Cook at Sir Porkalot BBQ, a KCBS Professional Competition BBQ Team. John nurtured and built the group from 3 members to 5,000 members in a year.
In April 2019, almost exactly a year after the group started, we were contacted by Facebook and asked if we would shoot a commercial that would feature our group for a campaign called “More Together”.
